Description:
  1. The watermain rehabilitation for this program is located along King Street, from Highway 16A to Agrena Road. This corridor is highly congested and serves as one of the primary arterial roadways within the City Center. As such, traffic accommodation and public communication will require careful planning and execution and are of the highest priority for the City of Spruce Grove.
  2. The sanitary and storm rehabilitation components are located further north along King Street, extending from Wellington Crescent to Brookside Avenue. While this segment experiences less congestion, it remains a key arterial roadway. Traffic accommodation and public communication will still be required; however, the approach will be more residential in nature rather than business-focused.
  3. Within the project limits, the watermain scope includes approximately 835 linear meters of replacement with a 300mm diameter PVC main, including all associated valving, hydrants, and curb stop (CC) replacements. The primary objective of this work is to abandon redundant mains and provide compliant connections that meet current City standards, while ensuring adequate system isolation for operational requirements.
  4. The sanitary and storm upgrades include approximately 60 linear meters of storm main replacement at Wellington Crescent, upsizing from 375 mm to 525 mm, along with associated manhole upgrades and catch basin improvements. The sanitary sewer on King Street will be upgraded from 375 mm to 600 mm, with approximately 210 linear meters of replacement. All connecting manholes will be removed and replaced to match proposed design elevations, and all existing sanitary service connections will be reinstated.
  5. All construction activities will include associated landscaping and road restoration. Temporary water servicing and sanitary sewer bypass systems will also be required and are included within the project scope, in accordance with the details outlined in the drawing package.
